Letter: Bremer's dedication, values make her strong candidate for Sixth Ward committeewoman

During this primary campaign season, Boone County Republicans have understandably focused most of their attention on the high profile races for governor and U.S. representative from our own 9th District. We should not, however, overlook candidates for other offices at every level. Political power in America is supposed to arise from the grass-roots majority even if organized pressure groups, mass media and Political Action Committee money too often succeeds in supplanting the grass-roots majority will with Astroturf hype these days.

To win and deserve majority support, the Republican Party needs both the common sense and the (unfortunately) not common enough courage to represent the views and fight for the interests of the American majority. This means, "Not only talk the talk but walk the walk." Some of the best local Republicans actually do this. Among the best of these is Amy Bremer, candidate for Republican committeewoman of the Sixth Ward.

Bremer is bright, hard working, young and articulate. She combines strong dedication to Republican principles and traditional American values with high-tech savvy and a touch of glamour.

At 33, Bremer is among the youngest candidate for any office in either party. Yet, she is also an accomplished professional chemical engineer, who holds both Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees with honors, a solid homeowner and taxpayer and a rising community leader.

For majority rights and values vote for a new rising star, Bremer, for Sixth Ward committeewoman in the Republican primary on Aug. 5.
