Since enacting term limits, Missouri has elected fewer and fewer women to the state legislature. Missouri is ranked 33rd in the United States in sending many fewer women than men to the state legislature.
Cande Iveson, 50, has worked in family and children's issues and with the state legislature for 11 years. She is vying to succeed Jeff Harris in the 23rd District against Stephen Webber, 25, who served in Iraq and has been anointed by Roger Wilson and Claire McCaskill. Admiration for his service in the war does not translate immediately to being a state representative. Iverson's experience, expertise and insight into Jeff City politics count.
She knows Missouri's needs, has walked the walk and talked the talk with many state legislators, putting forth effective public policies, especially in the areas of health, child care, education and children. Many of you in the 23rd District know her dedication to serve children and families. She will serve you in the same way as a member of the Missouri state legislature.
