Boone County under severe thunderstorm watch

Boone County is under a severe thunderstorm watch until 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.

There is a slight risk of large hail, heavy rain and damaging winds, its Web site said.

Additionally, Boone County is under an excessive heat warning until 7 p.m.
