COLUMBIA - No injuries were reported after a car crashed into a duplex Monday evening at about 8:14 p.m., according to a news release from the Columbia Fire Department.

Fire crews observed major damage to one side of the duplex at 2803 Fair Haven Drive upon arrival, the release said. The car that struck the duplex was found in the front yard with front end damage.

According to the release, Dexter Management owns the property, and damage is estimated at around $10,000. The Columbia Fire Department's Technical Rescue Special Operations Team installed wooded shores and plywood to make sure the duplex wall would not collapse because it was hit by the vehicle, the release said.

The driver of the vehicle, who was not named in the release, was taken into custody by the Columbia Police Department.
