ST. CHARLES - A St. Charles County man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for using painkiller patches to kill his wife.

Gregory Wadlow of O'Fallon pleaded guilty in June to second-degree murder in the 2004 death of his wife, 40-year-old Kelly Wadlow.

Investigators said the now-61-year-old husband used drugs through patches that had been prescribed to him after he was disabled in a 2001 industrial accident.
