WARRENSBURG — A popular high school girls softball and basketball coach faces sexual misconduct charges following a grand jury indictment.

Warrensburg High School coach Russell Hough is accused of sexual contact with two students, ages 15 and 16, on school property. A Johnson County grand jury issued an indictment on Friday.

School district superintendent Deborah Orr tells the Warrensburg Daily Star-Journal that Hough will be placed on administrative leave with pay.

Hough and the school district also face a civil lawsuit filed by six female athletes who claim sexual harassment.
