PrintJEFFERSON CITY — Fewer than one in five registered voters actually cast a ballot in Missouri's primary elections.
Voter turnout Tuesday was around 19 percent, according to unofficial calculations.

The Republican, Democrat and Libertarian gubernatorial candidates garnered a total of more than 754,000 votes. More people voted in the Republican primary where Congressman Kenny Hulshof defeated Treasurer Sarah Steelman than in the Democratic primary, where Attorney General Jay Nixon cruised to victory.
Missouri has about 4 million registered voters.
