KANSAS CITY - A man opened fire outside a Kansas City bar, wounding three people before bystanders took the guns away.
Police said the gunman, who was not identified, opened fire at the Tool Shed about 8:40 p.m. Thursday. Two of the victims were taken to a hospital, police Capt. Mike Perne told The Kansas City Star.
One person was in critical but stable condition. Another suffered serious injuries. A third person was treated at the scene.
Jesse Newport said he was outside the bar with the suspect before the shooting. He said the man was talking about suicide and said, "I'm going to be on the news."
The man began shooting into the bar until someone took his gun from him. He then grabbed another weapon and began firing again.
Another man tackled the gunman, and several patrons pinned him until police arrived, Newport said.
