ROACH - A 46-year-old man is dead of suffocation after getting lodged between a boat motor and its tow bar at Lake of the Ozarks.

The incident happened Sunday in Camden County. The victim is John Campbell of Macks Creek.

The Missouri State Water Patrol says Campbell was working on an outboard motor on the back of a boat when the motor popped forward, moving unexpectedly toward him. The Water Patrol says the motor and one of Campbell's arms became lodged against his throat, and he couldn't move.

Campbell was stuck in the position for about 25 minutes and suffocated.
