COLUMBIA - The Columbia School Board held a retreat Monday, in part, to talk about communication skills. The team-building session was led by Sarah Read of Communications Center Inc. and stressed effective communication and the importance of listening.

The board meets Tuesday evening in closed session. Board President Michelle Gadbois said she doesn't know whether there will be an announcement immediately afterward about who will serve as interim superintendent and asks that everyone "goes with the flow." Superintendent Phyllis Chase announced last week that she is retiring.
