St. Louis towing company raided

 ST. LOUIS - Agents from the FBI and IRS raid a towing company at the center of the scandal that led to the retirement of St. Louis Police Chief Joe Mokwa.

Agents on Tuesday raided the offices of St. Louis Metropolitan Towing. The FBI would not say why.

Mokwa retired last month amid concerns over a seized car scandal that involved his daughter and members of the department.

For years, the department contracted with the company to take vehicles seized during arrests. If the vehicles were unclaimed, the towing firm, through its sales subsidiary, would sell them.

Police revealed that the firm allowed many officers to borrow the vehicles, sometimes for weeks or months at a time. Authorities also say Mokwa's daughter, Aimee, was allowed to borrow cars and buy three at less than wholesale value.

this is a good thing to be seen and done.

it's about time these corrupt police departments and their agents get busted.
