COLUMBIA  — Columbia Police have released the identity of the body found Thursday night in the trunk of a vehicle.

The body of Helen C. Sanders, 53, was discovered in a vehicle's trunk Thursday night near Stadium Boulevard and U.S. 63 after the driver was pulled over on suspicion of unrelated traffic violations, Columbia police said.

A cause of death has not yet been determined. The body showed no obvious signs of injury, according to the news release issued by police at 7:30 a.m. Friday morning.

An autopsy is planned at 8:30 a.m. Friday.

Police arrested the 19-year-old male driver of the vehicle on "unrelated traffic offenses." A 16-year-old boy is also being questioned in the death investigation, the news release said. Their name are not yet being released, but both were known by the victim, police said.
