ST. LOUIS - St. Louis will distribute 5,000 reusable water bottles to employees so they can drink the city's finest municipal drink - tap water.
Last year, the city of St. Louis was recognized by the U.S. Conference of Mayors for having the best-tasting city water in America and was given a $15,000 award.
The city used the money to buy 5,000 reusable water bottles.
In April, City Hall announced it would stop buying bottled water and ask employees instead to drink from the city supply. San Francisco and other American cities have started similar practices.
City officials have said changing practices will reduce environmental waste and show a commitment to the public water supply.
