COLUMBIA - A man is in fair condition after being thrown from a vehicle that lost control on Interstate 70 in Columbia.

On Wednesday afternoon, Christen R. Haley, 25, of Auxvasse was driving a 1996 Ford Explorer westbound when the vehicle ran off the side of the road near the St. Charles Road overpass, a Columbia Police Department news release stated. The vehicle flipped and crashed into the center median, landing on all four wheels. The passenger, Mathew J. Salois, 22, of Mexico, Mo., was ejected from the vehicle, the release stated.

Both were taken to University Hospital and, as of 7 p.m. Wednesday, were listed in fair condition. Neither was wearing a seat belt.
