ST. LOUIS — Two St. Louis police officers are recovering after being struck in a hit-and-run accident.

Christopher Rice and Nathan Dresch were both treated and released at Barnes-Jewish Hospital after the accident that happened around 1:40 a.m. Thursday. Police were still searching for three suspects.

The incident began when the officers noticed a minivan and an Intrepid speeding, and suspected the vehicles had been stolen. The Intrepid crashed into another car, and suspects in the Intrepid tried to run away.

Just as the officers arrived at that crash scene, the minivan struck their patrol car and the officers.

The minivan drove away. It was found about a mile away.

The officers, both in their 20s, suffered sprains, bruises and other injuries.
