COLUMBIA - On Saturday morning, visitors can see dairy calves, make ice cream and try their hand at wool spinning. Jefferson Farm & Gardens is hosting its final open house from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m Saturday at 4800 New Haven Road.

The public is invited to visit the educational farm to see progress made since construction began in 2006. Other family-friendly activities and attractions at the open house include farm animals and equipment, wagon tours, a 7-acre lake and a wildflower meadow. The farm is slated to open in spring 2009 as a year-round educational attraction.
