Police seek suspect in bank robbery

The suspect is described as a thin white male, 5-feet, six inches tall, to 5-feet, eight inches tall with brown hair.

COLUMBIA - Police are seeking a suspect in the robbery of Boone County National Bank earlier this afternoon.

Police responded to a bank alarm at 1:33 p.m. at Boone County National Bank on 2711 West Broadway, a Columbia Police Department news release stated.

The suspect handed the teller a note and implied he had a weapon but didn't display one, the release said. The teller gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of money and he left the bank on foot traveling southwest, the release stated.

The suspect is described as a thin white male, 5-feet, six inches tall, to 5-feet, eight inches tall with brown hair. He was wearing a blue t-shirt, blue jeans and a white baseball cap.Anyone with information is requested to submit a tip on the Crimestoppers Web site, 875tips.com.
