JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri's gubernatorial candidates have agreed to debate next week at MU.

But how many debates will occur after that is still up for debate.

Republican Congressman Kenny Hulshof and Democratic Attorney General Jay Nixon both confirm they will participate in a 3:15 p.m. debate on Sept. 11.

The Columbia debate is being sponsored by the Missouri Press Association in conjunction with the 100th anniversary celebration of the university's journalism school.

Nixon says he will participate in three other debates - a radio debate in Kansas City, a TV debate broadcast in St. Louis and Kansas City and a TV debate in Springfield.

Hulshof also wants to hold an additional mid-Missouri debate and one in Cape Girardeau.
