COLUMBIA - One of the many forums taking place during MU's School of Journalism centennial celebration will focus on the impact and influence of religion in the political arena.
The panel, "Politics and Religion - God in the White House," will be at 10:45 a.m. on Sept. 11 at the Reynolds Journalism Institute. Major Garrett, chief correspondent for FOX News Channel and a 1984 graduate of MU's School of Journalism, will moderate. The discussion is intended to shed light on the integration of religion and politics in the upcoming elections.
Organizers say the conversation will be centered on the role of religion and the conflicts that arise as a result. Dan Gilgoff, politics editor at Beliefnet.com and Sally Quinn, reporter for the Washington Post will lead the discussion. The session is co-sponsored by the MU Center on Religion & the Professions and the Religion Newswriters Association.
