COLUMBIA — Police are seeking suspects in an attempted burglary that occurred at Woodstock Estates Trailer Park, a news release from the Boone County Sheriff's Department stated.

At about 2:35 a.m. on Tuesday, deputies received a call from another resident reporting an attempted break-in, the release stated. While officers were responding, another resident placed a 9-1-1 call and reported hearing shots fired from the trailer park. According to the release, once deputies arrived, a 30-year-old resident stated that he was with his 1-year-old child when two or three men tried to kick in his front door, the release stated. When it would not open, the men moved to the rear sliding glass door. After finding they were still not able to open the glass door, the suspects fired a bullet through it into the trailer. No one was injured, and the suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction.

The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information should call the Boone County Sheriff's Department at 875-1111 or CrimeStoppers at 875-TIPS (8477).
