PrintCOLUMBIA - At 12:25 a.m. Friday, two men identified themselves as police officers and held a 61-year-old male at gunpoint at Squeaky B's Car Wash on 3101 Paris Road, according to a Columbia Police Department news release.
The victim said he was collecting cans at the car wash when he was approached by two males in their mid-20s who attempted to show him police identification. The first suspect pulled up his shirt and showed the victim what appeared to be a black handgun in his waistband, the release stated.
The victim reported the suspects told him they needed to check him, had him put his hands on his vehicle and began to search him. As the first suspect was searching him, he took the victim's wallet, according to the release.
The victim reported the first suspect as the two suspects ran into the vehicle they arrived at the car wash in and fled the scene.
The first suspect is described as a male, 5-feet-8-inches tall with a medium build and short black hair, wearing a dark T-shirt and dark pants.
The second suspect is described as a 6-foot-tall male with a slim build, wearing a light gray hooded sweatshirt and faded jeans.
The victim was not injured during the incident, the release stated.
