Three men sought in attempted robbery

COLUMBIA - Police are searching for three suspects said to have approached a 33-year-old male Friday night and demanded money, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department.

Police said three men attacked the victim at 6:20 p.m. Friday at Tenth Street and Broadway and demanded money from him. One of the suspects implied that he had a knife, according to the release.

The victim was able to escape and contacted police.

According to the release, one of the suspects is described as an older white male with a disheveled appearance, a goatee and long hair. A second suspect is also described as an older white male with a disheveled appearance and long hair. Police have no descriptions for the third suspect.

Anyone with any information is requested to submit it to the CrimeStoppers Web site, 875tips.com. Submissions can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $1,500.
