JEFFERSON CITY — Gov. Matt Blunt is visiting Missouri National Guard troops in Kosovo.

About 1,000 Missouri guard members have been stationed there since April on a peacekeeping mission.

The governor's office said Monday that Blunt is meeting with leaders of the Kosovo Force Headquarters and visiting with soldiers on the job there.

A spokesman for Lt. Gov. Peter Kinder says Blunt transferred his gubernatorial powers to Kinder beginning on Sunday.

While in Europe, Blunt also plans to meet with a business in Austria about its potential expansion of its Missouri work force, the governor's office said. Blunt is to return to Missouri on Friday.
