COLUMBIA — Homecoming events are under way at Hickman High School this week. Here is a list of the school's activities:
Monday through Friday: Float building in the Commons from 3 to 5 p.m.
Wednesday: The Queen's Fair in Hickman Commons from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The 11 homecoming queen candidates create booths and help raise money for their chosen charities. This year's charities are Shoes That Fit, The Humane Society, Human Rights Conference, Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, Coach Strodtman Foundation, Outreach International (Huricane Gustav Relief Fund), Children's Hospital, Coyote Hill Children's Home, Broadway Care Equity Fights AIDS, Boys and Girls Club and Rainbow House. Last year the queen candidates and their sponsored organizations raised more than $22,000. Students vote for the homecoming queen on Thursday.
Friday: Homecoming assembly in the Hickman Stadium from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m.
Football game against Timberland High School at 7 p.m. The homecoming queen will be announced at halftime.
Saturday: Homecoming dance in Hickman Commons from 8:30 to 11:30 p.m.
Sept. 26: Joint parade with Rock Bridge High School at 3 p.m. in downtown Columbia. Providence Bowl football game against Rock Bridge High School at Faurot Field at 7 p.m.
