Humane Society cuts hours, looks for partnership

Thursday, September 18, 2008 | 4:39 p.m. CDT

The Central Missouri Humane Society announced Thursday morning that it will be making several changes to combat rising operating costs and the diminishing amount of space at its Columbia animal shelter.

The changes include looking into a potential partnership with the City of Columbia and other organizations.

Hours will also be cut to just noon to 5 p.m. Monday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. The shelter will not be open Tuesday and Wednesday. Check back with the Missourian for the rest of the story.
