COLUMBIA - A woman was injured when she was struck by a vehicle while crossing the intersection of College Avenue and Rollins Street on Thursday evening.

At approximately 6:14 p.m., Yiming Zhang crossed College Avenue at the south side of the intersection when a Dodge Dakota truck driven by Lacey K. Hubbert, 18, hit Zhang, said MU Police Capt. Brian Weimer. The truck was making a left turn onto College from Rollins.

Zhang was transported to University Hospital, where she was later released.

Harrison Smith, an MU student, said he heard the collision while he was walking across the street. The driver hit Zhang and immediately stopped, Smith said.

"It was clearly unintentional," he said.
