ST. LOUIS - Former Missouri state Rep. Sherman Thompson Parker has died of a brain aneurysm.
A friend, Chris Arps, said the 37-year-old Parker, of St. Peters, had hypertension and suffered an aneurysm Thursday that was considered a complication from that condition. He was pronounced dead at Barnes-Jewish Hospital.
Parker served in the Missouri House from 2003 to 2006, when he left for an unsuccessful Congressional run against Todd Akin.
He is survived by a wife, a daughter, his mother and a grandmother. Funeral arrangements were pending Friday.
