ST. LOUIS — Three people are charged with evidence tampering for allegedly lying to officials investigating a tiger attack on a volunteer.
The owners of Wesa-A-Geh-Ya animal park in Warren County, Kenneth and Sandra Smith, and a board member, Roy Elder, allegedly told officials at first that a pit bull, not a tiger, had attacked volunteer Jacob Barr, who later had to have part of his leg amputated.
Kenneth Smith is accused of moving the tiger's body to another property after he shot it during the attack. Sandra Smith said Monday that they are not guilty of the Warren County charges.
She said two tigers remain on her property, but she is working to find them homes after relocating dozens of other animals.
