A woman accused of stabbing two people — including her ex-boyfriend —in northeast Columbia early Sunday morning turned herself in to Columbia police on Monday.
Kimberly Ann Rickman, 22, went to the Columbia Police Department at 11 a.m. with members of her family, Sgt. Ken Hammond said.
After her arrest, an investigator with the Domestic Violence Enforcement Unit interviewed Rickman. During the interview, she made incriminating statements about her involvement in the attack, Hammond said.
The incident occurred in the 4400 block of Ria Street at 1:35 a.m. Sunday. Police said the female suspect entered a residence occupied by a man and woman, and, after arguing with the woman, took a knife from the kitchen and started to threaten her. Police said the suspect then stabbed the other woman in the chest and cut her hair. The man, who identified himself as Rickman’s ex-boyfriend, attempted to take the weapon from the suspect and was also stabbed. The assailant fled before police arrived.
Neither the man nor woman’s injuries were life-threatening.
Rickman is charged with two counts of armed criminal action, one count of first-degree domestic assault and one count of first-degree assault. Rickman was released to the custody of the Boone County Sheriff’s Department. As of 5:45 p.m., Rickman is being held at the Boone County Jail on $150,000 bond.
