COLUMBIA — A  Columbia congregation will install its first female rector during a service Wednesday evening.

Members of Calvary Episcopal Church, 123 S. Ninth St., will mark the installation of the Rev. Paula Robinson at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday. She is the first female rector, or senior priest, for the downtown church.

The Rt. Rev. George Wayne Smith, bishop of Missouri, will preside, and a reception will follow. Rev. Paula, as she likes to be called, has been at Calvary since March but her role will become official through this liturgy and service.

Robinson is originally from Ireland, and most recently served as rector in Leonardtown, Md.

The public is welcome and invited to attend the event.
