Cougars volleyball teams wins pair

Slavia Lino had 12 kills as Columbia College volleyball won both its matches Friday at the Bellevue (Neb.) University Bruin Classic. In the first match, Columbia swept Concordia (Neb.) University 25-14, 25-16, 25-15. Luana Branco added 34 assists and Tally Mattos had 10 digs.

In the second match, Columbia knocked off Hastings in four sets, 25-27, 25-16, 25-20, 25-21. No. 18 Hastings came in with a 22-1 record. Lino tallied 23 kills, Branco had 50 assists and Mattos 30 digs. Columbia (15-1) will face No. 8 Northwestern (Iowa) College and No. 15 Dordt (Iowa) College tomorrow in Bellevue.
