Man wanted on domestic assault, burglary charges surrenders to deputies

Friday, September 26, 2008 | 12:00 a.m. CDT

A man wanted on charges of burglary and domestic assault in connection with a disturbance on Sept. 22 turned himself in Thursday evening at the Boone County Sheriff's Department.

Melvin A. Warrick, 31, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree burglary and second-degree domestic assault. At 10:44 p.m., he was being held at the Boone County Jail on a $100,000 bond.

On Tuesday, a warrant was issued for Warrick's arrest after a 26-year-old woman, who later told deputies she was Warrick's ex-girlfriend, said a man had entered her apartment at about 2 a.m. Monday and attacked her while she was preparing to take a shower.

The woman suffered minor injuries from the attack.
