ACLU to host seminar on influencing public policy

COLUMBIA — The topic of Tasers will be discussed Saturday at a Citizen Empowerment Seminar hosted by the American Civil Liberties Union. The event will take place from 9 a.m to 4 p.m. at the MU Law School in room 7.

The seminar will help citizens learn to be more effective in their efforts to influence legislation and public policy on a local, state and national level. Speakers will include Aaron Hulse of the Washington, D.C., legislative office of the ACLU and John Coffman, lobbyist for the ACLU in Jefferson City.

The seminar is free and open to the public, but participants are asked to register online at action.aclu.org/columbia. Breakfast and lunch will be provided.
