Two injured in traffic accident

COLUMBIA — Two people were injured in an accident on Missouri Highway 163 and Green Meadows Road on Monday morning, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department.

Goldie Lawson, 66, of Columbia, was driving southbound on Highway 163 around 6:30 a.m. when she ran a red light and struck the car driven by Chad Kuester, 25, of Columbia, who was driving eastbound on Green Meadows. Both drivers were wearing seat belts, according to the release.  

Lawson is in fair condition at University Hospital. Kuester was treated and released.
