KANSAS CITY — Michelle Obama visits Kansas City this week to campaign for the Democratic presidential ticket headed by her husband, Sen. Barack Obama.

The Obama-Biden campaign said Michelle Obama will be in the city's 18th and Vine district just after 5 p.m. Wednesday to lead a rally dubbed "Change We Need." The event is free and open to the public. No tickets are needed.

Campaign officials say Obama will talk about the importance of registering to vote ahead of the Oct. 8 registration deadline.

Michelle Obama also campaigned in Kansas City in early July. She took part in a roundtable discussion of women's issues.

Republican presidential candidate John McCain will also be in Missouri today. He is scheduled to speak at the Truman Presidential Library in Independence.
