JEFFERSON CITY — Former Republican state auditor candidate Sandra Thomas has been picked for a state accounting board.
Thomas lost in 2006 to Democrat Susan Montee. Thomas, who is 42 and lives in Kansas City, had been the Platte County auditor. She's currently the director of tax research at BillSoft Inc.
Gov. Matt Blunt's office said Thursday that Thomas had been appointed to the State Accountancy Board, which regulates certified public accountants. The selection must be approved by the Senate and her term would run until July 2013.
Thomas graduated from William Jewell College and has a master's degree in accounting from the University of Missouri-Kansas City.
