Baker and Luetkemeyer jointly campaign in Hallsville

HALLSVILLE — With one month left before the November general election, the campaign to succeed Kenny Hulshof in Congress is heating up.

Democrat Judy Baker and Republican Blaine Luetkemeyer appeared together at a community forum Monday in the northern Boone County town of Hallsville.

Excluding one brief meeting at an insurance industry event in September, the joint appearance was the first since each won a crowded August primary race in the 9th Congressional District.

Baker also visited an assembly plant in nearby Centralia to unveil a manufacturing tax credit proposal. And Luetkemeyer is scheduled to convene a group of female supporters later in the day that includes former GOP primary opponent and state Rep. Danie Moore of Fulton.
