COLUMBIA — Police arrested a suspect on suspicion of murder Sunday night during a traffic stop, according a news release from the Columbia Police Department.

Clyde Hyler III was wanted in connection with the Aug. 21 shooting death of one man and the wounding of another on Quail Drive, according to the release. As of 10:30 Monday morning, Hyler was in Boone County Jail on $1 million bond — $500,000 for suspicion of first-degree robbery and $500,000 for suspicion of second-degree murder.

In August, Capt. Brad Nelson said police believe Antonio Flores-Ramirez, 29, of Columbia, and Javier Perdoza, 23, thought they were going to buy drugs from Hyler, 22, and Antoine J. Harris, 31. Flores-Ramirez was later found shot to death, and Perdoza was found in a nearby apartment, shot in the chest.

Authorities arrested Harris the next day, and police said he confessed to his involvement in the shooting. Harris is currently in Boone County Jail.
