JEFFERSON CITY — Gov. Matt Blunt is interviewing the three finalists for the Missouri Supreme Court, his office said.

Staffers said Blunt is to meet Tuesday with appellate Judge Lisa White Hardwick, then with appellate Judge Ronald Holliger and finally with Associate Judge Zel Fischer of the Atchison County circuit court.

The three candidates were submitted to Blunt in August by a special commission that screens applicants to fill vacancies on the appellate court. The governor has about two more weeks to make a decision.

Blunt says the personal interviews are an important part of his review process.
