Synagogues in Columbia will begin their observance of Yom Kippur on Wednesday evening and continue services through Thursday night.

Kol Nidre services will be held by Congregation Beth Shalom Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. followed by morning, afternoon and Yizkor services on Thursday.

The Hillel Foundation will hold similar services for the MU Jewish Student Organization.

Yom Kippur is a Jewish holiday that marks the final of ten days of repentance. This period of prayer and fasting began on Sept. 30 with Rosh Hashanah and concludes with traditional services on Yom Kippur.

For more information or service times, contact Congregation Beth Shalom at 499-4855, or the Hillel Foundation at 443-7460.
