ST. CHARLES — The St. Charles City Council on Tuesday rejected a change of ordinance that would have allowed families to keep pot-bellied pigs in their homes.
Christopher and Christina Jones requested the change in August after a neighbor complained about their pig, Sarah. The measure would have allowed one pig per household and would have required owners to register and immunize the animal.
Five of the 10 council members voted to repeal the old ordinance, but six votes were needed. One member was absent, but that member opposes the repeal.
