Hartsburg Pumpkin Festival set for weekend

IF YOU GO

What: Hartsburg Pumpkin Festival

When: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday and Sunday

Where: Hartsburg, 25 miles south of Columbia off U.S. 63 on state Highway A.

You’ll find: Arts and crafts, food vendors, games, pony rides, musical entertainment, holiday decorations, a pumpkin patch, pumpkin carving, pie-eating competitions, hayrides, apple butter, kettle corn,craft demonstrations and a straw maze.

Weather: Partly cloudy with a high around 80 degrees, low around 60 degrees both days.

Parking: City officials encourage carpooling because a late harvest season has resulted in reduced space for vehicles in town. Trams run both days from the parking areas to the edge of town.

Saturday
8:45 a.m. Crowning of the king – Orval Lenger
9 a.m.: Parade
11 a.m. to 3 p.m.: Mick Byrd and Bonus Track
3 to 5 p.m.: Roadhouse Fiddle

 

Sunday
9 a.m.: Church service
11:30 a.m.: Spiritual Strings
12:30 p.m.: Out of the Valley
1:30-3 p.m.: Praises to Him
3-5 p.m.: Nashville Church

*All performances will be held at the gazebo.
