Man injured in car accident on Interstate 70

Accident occurred when vehicle struck embankment and overturned

COLUMBIA — An accident on Interstate 70 just west of Providence Road on Friday evening left one Columbia man injured.

Larry D. Shinn, 43, was traveling in the eastbound lane of I-70 shortly after 8 p.m. Friday when he left the roadway on the right side of the road, struck an embankment and overturned his vehicle, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department.

Shinn, who was wearing his seat belt, was transported to University Hospital for non-life threatening injuries, according to the release.
