COLUMBIA —While on a foot patrol near Broadway and Hitt Street around 1 a.m. Sunday, Columbia police officers noticed two people being removed from 1025 E. Broadway, the building that houses Generic night club and Penguin Piano Bar, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department. The subjects had been involved in a fight inside the building, the release said.
The officers intervened, the release said, and discovered one man had a chest wound. Police are unsure what weapon was used in the assault.
The victim, a Columbia resident, was transported to the hospital to treat his injuries, the release said.
