CAPE GIRARDEAU — An autopsy is planned on a 67-year-old southeast Missouri man who died in an accident on a Mississippi River barge.
Thomas Eftink of Chaffee died Saturday. An autopsy was scheduled for Monday, but it wasn't clear when results would be released.
Emergency workers were called shortly after noon Saturday to Buzzi Unicem in Cape Girardeau, and told a worker had fallen into an empty hopper barge. Eftink was taken by ambulance to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
