COLUMBIA — Police are searching for two male suspects in connection with the armed robbery of a delivery driver, according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department.
The robbery occurred Monday evening at 2400 E. Nifong Blvd. The victim, a 21-year-old male, from Columbia, was not injured during the incident.
Police were dispatched to the scene of the robbery at 8:36 p.m. A delivery driver was preparing to leave the address following a delivery when the suspects blocked the path of the driver's vehicle with their vehicle, the release said.
A man approached the victim who was seated in his vehicle and demanded his money. The man then displayed a handgun, leading the victim to hand over his property. The man then returned to his vehicle and fled the scene with an unknown amount of cash, according to the release. The second suspect never got out of the vehicle, according to the release.
The suspects drove away from the scene in a black Hyundai Tiburon with a rear spoiler.
The first suspect is described as a male, 5 feet 10 inches to six feet tall, wearing a black mask, the release said.
