ST. LOUIS — The Saint Louis Symphony Orchestra is releasing its last four recordings made under the direction of the late Hans Vonk.

Vonk was music director of the symphony from 1996 to 2002, before a neurological condition forced him to resign. He died in 2004.

Symphony concertmaster David Halen says the collection, dating from 1998, is some of Vonk's best work with the orchestra. The symphony earlier released four other CDs.

Produced by Pentatone, the Vonk CDs are available at retail outlets in the U.S., online and at Powell Symphony Hall.

The nationally recognized Saint Louis Symphony is the second-oldest symphony orchestra in the United States.
