COLUMBIA — A 22-year-old man was robbed after giving a ride to two men Tuesday night, according to a Columbia Police news release.
At 8:30 p.m. Tuesday, the Columbia Police Department was called to a robbery that had occurred in the victim's car on Ash Street near Heather Lane.
The victim said he was driving northbound on Fairview Road, approaching Broadway, when he decided to stop and give a ride to two males who were walking in the same direction, the release said.
The victim said as he was driving on Ash Street, one of the men pointed a gun at his head and demanded that he hand over everything from his pockets. According to the release, the victim complied, and the suspect told him to stop his car on Ash Street between Heather Lane and Stadium Boulevard. The suspects got out of the car and ran southbound toward the Holiday House apartments at the 100 block ofN. Stadium Blvd.
It is unknown whether the suspects live there, the release said. One of the suspects is said to be approximately 18 to 20 years old with a thin build and close shaved hair. He was wearing a light blue sweater and had a black semi-automatic handgun. A detailed description was not available for the second suspect. The victim was not injured, according to the release.
