RIVERVIEW — A suburban St. Louis woman and a police officer were injured after a fire started in a home.
The blaze broke out late Tuesday in Riverview in north St. Louis County. Fire Chief Joe Bommarito said the woman was taken to a hospital with severe burns. The police officer was treated for smoke inhalation after he ran into the house to rescue the woman before firefighters arrived.
There was no immediate word on the cause of the fire. Names of the victims have not been released.
