MU student robbed outside home

COLUMBIA — A man armed with a handgun robbed a 21-year-old woman early Saturday morning at 1619 Wilson Ave., according to a news release from the Columbia Police Department.

At 1:06 a.m. Saturday, the suspect approached the woman, who is an MU student, and stole cash before fleeing in an unknown direction.  The woman had returned home and was still in her vehicle when the suspect put a handgun to her head, but she was not injured, according to the release. Police did not say how much cash was stolen.

He was seen wearing dark clothing and a ski mask.

The investigation is continuing, and no arrests have been made.

The Columbia Police Department requests that anyone with information submit it to the CrimeStoppers Web site, 875tips.com. Submissions can be made anonymously and could result in a reward of up to $1,500 if the information leads to an arrest.
